FAQs

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy may be right for you if you're experiencing challenges or difficulties in your life that are affecting your well-being and quality of life. This could include symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, or relationship issues. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unable to cope with life's challenges on your own, therapy can provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and work towards positive change and growth.

It’s my first time going to therapy. What should I know?

It's normal to feel nervous or unsure about starting therapy, especially if it's your first time. Remember that therapy is a collaborative process, and your therapist is there to support and guide you. Be open and honest about your feelings, experiences, and goals for therapy. Trust that your therapist is trained to help you navigate difficult emotions and challenges in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Take things at your own pace and be patient with yourself as you begin this journey of self-discovery and healing.

What can I expect from my Wellness Practitioner?

You can expect your wellness practitioner to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your wellness goals and challenges. They will work with you collaboratively to identify your unique needs and preferences and tailor their approach to meet them. Your practitioner will offer guidance, support, and encouragement as you work towards achieving your wellness goals, empowering you to make positive changes and improvements in your life. They will also respect your autonomy and confidentiality, ensuring that you feel heard, valued, and respected throughout your sessions.

How are sessions offered?

All of our Art Therapy, Counselling, and Social Work sessions are offered online through our secure video platform. We welcome clients to find a comfortable space in their own homes, or somewhere that they can be alone for the duration of the session. We welcome clients to set up in a way that feels best for them - maybe with a cozy blanket, a cup or tea or with their favourite candle on.

Our Wellness Photography sessions are offered in clients own home, or at a studio! Clients will connect with our Wellness Photographer to explore what the best option for them is.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It allows individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through artistic expression, providing a supportive space for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. Art therapy uses the benefits of traditional talk therapy, mixed with the benefits of engaging your whole self in the therapeutic process.

What is Wellness Photography?

Wellness photography is a therapeutic approach to photography that focuses on capturing images that promote healing, self-expression, and self-discovery. It goes beyond traditional photography to create a space for individuals to explore their bodies, emotions, and identities through the lens of the camera. By using photography as a tool for self-reflection and empowerment, wellness photography aims to foster a deeper connection with oneself and promote overall well-being.
